It's easy to mistake pause, stillness, and reflection as wasting time, inaction and falling behind. The world, and especially business, is so hyper obsessed with constant action and motion, without leaving time to allow previous moves to integrate. Inaction - lying around, not listening, not being present - is spiritual bypassing. You can't 'think' your way to a new life, if you don't change or upgrade the inner psyche and narration that you hold. If you don't rewrite your approach, the quality of your actions never differ from previous times. Change happens when you completely abandon previous ways of being, previous ways of seeing and operating.
Spiritual bypassing is when you completely avoid who you are. Conscious creation is when you confront yourself and analyse the quality of your life and being, which then in turn empowers you to move life in the right momentum  – upwards.
Sometimes, most times actually, it means to pause.
We spend too much time wasting our efforts on frivolous actions that ultimately don't matter. Action that comes as 'recommendations' from someone, actions that come from a new course, action that we feel we must rush into if not we will be left behind. Action that comes from urgency, fear, worry, stress – because you want so desperately to change something – will never bear fruit, unless you confront yourself face to face.
Not fake positivity, not wishful thinking – but when you truly embody the right version of self without distortion.
You can't out-act an unaligned and unfulfilled self, just like how you can't outrun a bad diet.
All of the energy you pour into something has to first come from wholeness and completion.
To pause. What does pause mean? Give up? Far from that.
It means to literally give yourself space to process, understand yourself and have an honest a real evaluation of where you are within.
Sure, you can proceed to 'do the thing' regardless and 'produce a result', but you often risk running on empty, or worst still, find yourself repeating patterns you cannot seem to get out of, no matter how hard you try. The world is full of noise to rush into something, that you're running out of time, that you're not doing enough... And it's all pressure from a benchmark that doesn't have any weight to it.
The life you want doesn't require enduring pain, hardship and enormous sacrifice. You can get what you want, go to where you want to be, and still enjoy rest, life and the journey.
It all starts with recognising the power of pause and radical self-honesty.
That's the only way out of cycles and emotionally reacting to circumstances, which keep you stuck in the same loop again and again.
Rise above or sink below.
